A brow lift will give you a more rested, relaxed, and youthful appearance by tightening forehead skin, elevating the brows, and softening lines between the eyes.

Procedure
Brow lifts usually require an incision a few inches behind the hairline at the top of head. Strips of muscle that cause facial features to droop are removed or tightened. Skin is gently pulled upward, excess skin is removed and incisions are closed with staples and stitches. Certain patients are good candidates for the endoscopic technique. This specialized procedure that allows for very small incisions is performed by Dr. Rohrich at the Tom Landry center.
Recovery

Facial surgery may improve a person's self-image by correcting minor imperfections or by rejuvenating a tired appearance resulting from long-term sun exposure or the aging process. To feel your best, you should follow a regimen of proper nutrition, skin care and exercise after the procedure. We encourage patients to adhere to the following guidelines in order to feel good inside and out.

  • Your head is wrapped in a stretch bandage which is removed one or two days after surgery.

  • After bandages have been removed, hair may be washed with mild baby shampoo. A blow dryer on the cool setting may be used. No hair sprays or gels should be used while stitches are in place. Hair color should not be used for six weeks after surgery.

  • Your head should remain elevated for two weeks following surgery. Exaggerated facial movements should be kept to a minimum the first week.

  • Stitches are removed within ten days of surgery. Facial makeup may be worn prior to this time.

  • Normal activity may be resumed two weeks after surgery. For four weeks after surgery, avoid strenuous exercise and lifting more than ten pounds.

  • The incisions are generally protected by the hairline, but a wide-brimmed hat is helpful to avoid sun exposure.
