I am considering cosmetic surgery but don’t want to make a decision until I get all the facts. Is it appropriate to make an appointment with a surgeon while still in the “research” phase?

Is there a non-surgical procedure to improve the appearance of deep wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes?

I am having facelift surgery. Will this improve the texture of my skin?

Women who are ready to look as good as they feel may consider facial surgery to improve their appearance. Many women choose to have facial surgery because their face and neck have begun to sag and/or their eyes look heavy and tired. And, while women are able to improve on their body by working out and dressing well, the face often shows signs of aging. Facial surgery can help harmonize your youthful mind, body and spirit!
There are numerous facial plastic surgery options including blepharoplasty (eye lift), brow lift, rhytidectomy (facelift) and rhinoplasty (nose surgery). Dr. Gibby performs many of these procedures on an outpatient basis at The Women’s Center.
Face/neck lifts or more extensive facial procedures that may require an overnight stay are performed by  Dr. Rohrich at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute located at the Tom Landry Center.

Eye Lift

Your eyes are central to your overall facial appearance, and heavy, sagging lids can give you a tired, sad appearance. For a more rested, youthful look, you may elect to have Eye Lift surgery. This procedure can be performed alone or in conjunction with other facial cosmetic surgery.

An Eye Lift (Blepharoplasty) removes fat, skin, and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids to correct drooping and puffy bags. While this procedure will tighten loose skin, it won't remove all wrinkles, eliminate dark circles, or lift sagging eyebrows.

Brow Lift

As woman age they may experience deep forehead wrinkles and sagging brows that can make her have a tired, frustrated appearance. A forehead lift or "brow lift" is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. This procedure can be done by itself or in conjunction with an eye lift (Blepharoplasty) or other facial surgery.

Ear Tuck

Children are the most likely candidates for otoplasty, but this surgery can be performed at any age after the ears have reached full size, usually around five to six years of age. Even if the ears are only mildly distorted, the condition can lead to self-consciousness and poor adaptation to school. When it comes to otoplasty, conventional wisdom is the earlier the better.
Adults may also benefit from this procedure and often choose this surgery in conjunction with other facial plastic surgical procedures. Not only is it possible to "pin back" ears, but ears can also be reshaped, reduced in size, or made more symmetrical.

Face and Neck Lift

Many women choose to have a facelift because their face and/or neck have begun to sag, making them appear older than they feel.

A facelift or "rhytidectomy," is able to improve upon the signs of aging by tightening underlying muscles and removing excess facial fat and skin. Dr. Rohrich, a specialist in facial surgery, helped develop the "multiple vector facelift" which reshapes the face in a more natural manner then in the past.

The visual signs of aging are different for every women. Women with animated faces or who have had a lot of sun exposure may show signs of aging earlier. The average candidate for a facelift is usually between the ages of 45-60, however this procedure can be done successfully on people in their 70s and 80s.

Nasal Reshaping

The nose is the most defining characteristic on the face. It should not be seen as a separate feature, but rather should blend proportionately into your face so that it does not detract from features such as the eyes and mouth. Cosmetic Nasal Surgery (Rhinoplasty) reshapes the nose, which enhances your profile and achieves greater balance with your other facial features. Nasal surgery may alter the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip. Whether from traumatic injury or a familial trait, abnormalities of the nose are addressed by cosmetic rhinoplasty.

Botox and Fillers

Botox® is a purified toxin injected into dynamic wrinkles - wrinkles caused by movement. It temporarily paralyzes the overactive muscles that cause the wrinkles, giving a smoother, softer, more relaxed appearance. It is used in areas such as the frown lines between the brows, wrinkles on the forehead, and crow's feet. Restylane™ and Cosmoplast are cosmetic dermal fillers used to restore volume and fullness to the skin, improving the appearance of wrinkles and facial folds.

Facial Rejuvenation

Aesthetic eyelid surgery is one of the easiest facial cosmetic procedures from which to recover and can be extremely rewarding for patients desiring a more youthful, rested appearance.

Eyes are considered the most expressive feature on our face.
Unfortunately, years of laughing, squinting and sun exposure often take their toll on the sensitive skin surrounding the eyes, giving a tired,
droopy appearance. An eye lift can be performed on the upper and lower lids simultaneously, depending on the patient's needs.
