A supportive bra is usually worn after surgery. In most cases, it helps minimize discomfort associated with surgery.

To avoid buying the wrong size, postpone shopping for regular bras until the swelling has gone down (about six to eight weeks after surgery) and the breasts have "settled" to their normal position.

Avoid wearing an under-wire bra for at least six to eight weeks after surgery. After you have healed, however, this type of bra provides good support.

When exercising, be sure to wear a well-fitting sports bra to help maintain optimal surgical results.
