Botox®
Botox® is a purified toxin injected into dynamic wrinkles - wrinkles caused by movement. It temporarily paralyzes the overactive muscles that cause the wrinkles, giving a smoother, softer, more relaxed appearance. It is used in areas such as the frown lines between the brows, wrinkles on the forehead, and crow's feet. Restylane and Cosmoplast are cosmetic dermal fillers used to restore volume and fullness to the skin, improving the appearance of wrinkles and facial folds. The most common areas injected are the nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and the lips. They can be used to restore lip volume lost over time or to enhance lips that have always been thin or asymmetric.
Fillers
Restylane® is a filler made of hyaluronic acid, a normal component of the skin that gives it support and volume. It was recently FDA-approved for use in improving the look of facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane is not derived from animal sources and therefore has very little risk of allergic reaction. It gives a soft, natural look and feel, and lasts an average of six months, considerably longer than other filler used in the past.
Restylane® injections are performed at
Dr. Rohrich's office.

| Commonly Asked Questions |
|
Is it safe?
Botox has been safely used worldwide to treat a variety of conditions for more than ten years. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of frown lines.
How long does it last?
Results last about four months, after which the lines gradually recur.
Will my face lose expression?
Botox injections are carefully tailored to each patient's facial lines and contours to avoid an expressionless look. Since only Dr. Black administers Botox injections, the result will reflect a natural look that will subtly turn back the hands of time.
What can I expect?
Treatment takes only a few minutes and discomfort is minimal. Within a week you will see a marked decrease in facial lines and wrinkles. The most common side effect (though rare) is temporary drooping of an eyelid or eyebrow.
